Did anyone noticed the question from one of the "journalists" in the press conference inquiring if the shooter had a concealed carry permit? They would have love to hear he did. Ms. Carlson declined to answer that question. I'm also sure they were dissappointed when the police chief said he only had a single nine mil gun with multiple magazines. No word on if they were the scary high capacity ones. Sure they would have love to hear he had an AR-15 or AK-47.

This was described as an "act of domestic terrorism". Interesting that shootings at Christian/Jewish places of worship are never described in that manner AFAIK.

Yesterday it was the comment that Zimmerman was ordered not to follow Trayvon by the 911 operator. Today he suggested that churches needed to hire armed security guards if they no longer felt safe.

He lives in San Fransisco and grew up in New York, he supports the constitution, but obviously because of his background, guns are for the police and hunters. He probably has no experience with guns. How could he considering where he has lived, so he can not imagine that a devout religious person could actually legally conceal carry a gun into their place of worship and protect everyone who is there.

He does not understand places where people gather that are gun free zones are targets for these nut cases bent on fame and glory from the newsmedia.

Michael Savage has stated numerous times on his radio show that he supports the 2nd Amendment and that he has a Concealed Carry Permit, which is very difficult to get in Marin County where he lives. He also stated that he advised some church leaders to have armed security at their places of worship.

Please don't confuse the government of California with the people of that state. There are too many stereotypes that are just not true. I lived most of my life in California and have always owned guns and supported the 2nd Amendment. I also had a lot of friends who shared my beliefs and would carry a concealed weapon if allowed by law. Because of the political climate, many didn't talk about it in "mixed company".

While living in California I worked in the defense industry for many years and my co-workers were some of the most conservative and patriotic people that I have ever known. Many of them were gun owners and supported the second amendment. Many of the workers were veterans of the armed services and quite a few of the managers were retired military officers.
When I moved to Texas, I finally got my CHL. That was something that I had wanted to do for many many years.

Unfortunately, the three things that I miss most about California I couldn't bring with me to Texas. The mountains, the beaches and the weather.

Right now both CNN and HLN have talk shows on about guns right now (Piers Morgan and Dr. Drew). Some of the attention grabbers include: Do you feel safe enough to leave your home? Are 88 guns per 100 people too many? Do hunters really need assault weapons that shoot 100 bullets at time?

All mine just shot one bullet at a time, though some might hold 100 I think one called a "pepperbox" used to shoot multiple rounds at the same time, ... and yes, I need all 100 to 160 while hunting, I only need 60 to go to grocery stores and 80 to go to eat out and 120 to 180 to go to church, but I only need 40 to 60 to do yard work like mowing or trimming trees and no gun I own ever assaulted anyone, nor do I own any assault weapons.

That 88 is a low number anyway and they should be happy with it. I own 10 guns. If only 49 others here in Texas owned the same number as I, the numbers would be 500 per 100 (for that particular 100). Just proves how stupid this 88 per 100 is. At what point do you stop and average all samples to come up with 88 per 100? Would that be the correct picture? Of course not.

I am at the point now that I don't even listen to their lies anymore.

Gee Bill, I think you described me to a T with the above. I'm a native Californian and always had guns in the house. My grandfather, the retired Marine, taught me how to shoot in his garage in Orange County of all places. 

We used his .357 loaded with wax bullets and reduced charges that he made up while I watched. 

As a kid, I had a neighbor that was a gun enthusiast who took me skeet shooting several times. The first time I offered to pay for my shells. What he told me I will never forget. He told me that being able to share shooting was payment enough. That our rights were too important to lose. My father was the same way. Those men all left a lasting impression on me. 

I have many, many pro gun friends still in CA. Some are LEOs and even they believe citizens should be able to carry. 

As far as the mountains and ocean, you said it! It is very hard to top the drive down the coast from the Bay Area to Ventura.

It is getting beyond ridiculous! The problem I see is that there are a whole load of sheep who believe anything they hear on TV. My continued hope for our 2nd amendment rights was reinforced by the record number of guns sold just after the slaughter in that theater. I can promise one thing for certain, if cows and chickens had guns, we would all be vegetarians.

Sorry wildbill and sqlgeek. I don't buy it for one minute. being from Kalifornia is not something one can simply wash off with soap and water. I am not sure gasoline can remove those stains.

Just to put things in scale, my mother's house is 2,700 square feet. The house on the left is 15,000 square feet......and the guy who owns it is the worst kind of cad and a bully. Anyway, my wife and I were married on the edge of that cliff, overlooking an ocean so blue and clear that you can see the fish swimming just outside the breaker line, and whales and dolphins come in and frolic just off the beach. It was a sunny day, 80º with a light pleasant breeze. Best day of my life. Mom's property includes 108 ft of beachfront.
