You can rent a private lane at Shoot Smart.
They are adding more private lanes, I believe 5? more are currently under construction.

Those guys aren't too far away from me. I'll have to give them a call and see what it costs. Thanks.

This is news to me:

from AP: "The gunman's semiautomatic assault rifle jammed during the attack, forcing him to switch to another gun with less firepower, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press. That malfunction and weapons switch might have saved some lives.

Oates said a 100-round ammunition drum was found in the theater, but he said he didn't know whether it jammed or emptied."

I heard that, also. If true, it's a good thing he didn't know how to clear a jam.

Good thing he did not read all the reviews on those drum magazines for AR15s

I would bet dollars to donuts, he was using a cheap, steel cased ammo.

Interesting article from a Navy Seal on surviving (or never being at) these types of attacks...

I saw some of the footage of him in court today on the news. Either is nuts or the stress and gravity of what he's done and what he's facing is coming down on him.

Strange thing I heard them talking about if they go for the death penalty. The prosecution loses the right to pick the experts!

He was creepy to watch. As brilliant as he seems to be, and as calculated as his attack was, I couldn't help but wonder if he was acting today. I almost didn't buy the pitiful looks and absent stares.

I know we have a couple liberals on the forum who pretend to be gun advocates(wolves in sheeps clothing), so maybe they can esplain to me something I have noticed their comrades doing. What is the deal with refusing to blame violence in the media(free speech) but having no problem blaming the gun(RKBA)???

I kid you not. I have listened to one socialist(AKA LIBTARD) after another do this. It reminds me of when the libtards pretend to be for free speech, but only if it fits in with their personal beliefs. :???:

And it would be illegal to sell a gun to a male unless they were 25 or possessed a clean bill of mental health card from a licensed psychiatrist.
I was out of town at a friend's wedding and didn't see this little gem, so I apologize for bringing it up from 3 or 4 pages back.

On a personal level: I am a 25 year old male and have had my CHL for 3 years.

Just to turn this around a bit, I think everyone over the age of 70 should be required to pass a vision test and a practical driving test with a licensed DPS official every year before they're allowed to obtain a drivers license. :biggrinjester:

But seriously: The idea is completely foolish.

1)Some psychiatrists are firmly anti gun and would abuse their ability to deny people their 2nd amendment rights.

2) Anyone who possesses even a modicum of intellect can defeat the sillly basic spectrum of questions they ask. You don't say that anything makes you angry, or resentful, or that you often imagine yourself as the omnipotent king of the cheese people on moon base 3.

As to the idea of "getting out in front of this" and providing alternatives:

I don't care who is telling me more gun control is the solution, whether they're a gun owner or not. An alternative proposal to further restrict our freedoms from somone nominally on "our side" is worse than a suggestion from the Brady Campaign.

To end before I get on a huge rant about the subject....No. Just no. :???:

I'm glad you are 25, you now have an extremely good chance of never developing Schizophrenia.

In lieu of a psychiatrist, we could use the deer in the headlights eye exam, in my view both are just as effective. Gun dealers could be required to take your picture and compare it to the standard test sample Charles Manson, or now James Holmes.

The driving test should start at 80.

The killer was on prescription drugs and apparently was a pot head.

Not a single post about illegal immigration killing 13 yesterday.

Crazy people should not have access to guns.

Watching Gretta on Fox. She has four attorney types talking about how they would represent that twisted piece of garbage. They all seem to think the defense is going with the insanity defense. Sounds about right.

Channel 2 in Houston, weighs in on Assault Rifles. Good deer in headlights photo of James Holmes at the end of the story.

Yes insanity will be his defense, as he is really crazy.

At least one gun range owner figured that out before hand, or he would have learned how to clear a jam.

All the more reason to execute him.

I do not believe in the insanity stuff...don't really care if they are insane...if you do the crime you pay.

Sadly, I imagine the odd facial expressions he had in court ... were him mentally attempting to change the past.

Seriously

Temporal Illusion - The Butterfly Effect

During science camp at a community college in San Diego six years ago, Holmes focused on temporal illusion, a distortion in perception that he described as “an illusion that allows you to change the past,” according to a video of a presentation released yesterday by ABC News.

The Butterfly Effect (movie Sci-Fi 2004)
He finds he has the ability to travel back in time to inhabit his former self and change the present.

Last year, Holmes was one of a half-dozen students admitted to the neuroscience graduate program on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, which focuses on the workings of the brain with an emphasis on processing of information, behavior, learning and memory,” according to a statement from the school.
‘Significant Contributions’

Holmes, along with five other students, had his research funded by a National Institutes of Health grant aimed at training “outstanding neuroscientists and academicians who will make significant contributions to neurobiology,” the school said.

Holmes was paid a stipend of $26,000 a year under the grant
That's science you pay for with taxes, so lets see if his experiment works; if he can change the past after execution ...
