TX Dad defends daughter (4)
Don't mess with TX Dad or their daughters. Apparently the dad found this man in the act of sexually assaulting his daughter. He yanked the guy off and hit him in the head a few times. The man died of his injuries. I say good riddance to bad rubbish"
It irks me though that the article lists the pedophile as the "victim." No, you no nothings (speaking to the media), it is the daughter that was the victim and the father that is the hero for stopping the assault on his daughter. I hope he is not prosecuted.

Consequences of stupidity. An autopsy on the alleged attacker is expected to be performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office to establish the cause of death.

Re: TX Dad defends daughter (4)
If it is proved that the little girl was indeed assaulted, then the dad did the absolute correct thing. (If the article said it was already established that she was indeed assaulted, then I may have missed it.) And if the dad was in the right on this one, then NOTHING should happen to him. Notice that the article focused on how the community reacted, as if that were some terrible way to react about it. I tell you, elites really hate it when citizens defend themselves or their loved ones. Some people in his country really are on the bad guys' side. (And yes, I mean that.)

I am not certain but I think it is inferred that there were witnesses to the assault of the child beyond the dad.

Good for him!! Hope no charges are coming--shouldn't be.
I am afraid I would have done much more and might have charges filed against me--but it would be worth it.
You just don't mess with someones family.

I am in full agreement with Uncle Ted in cases like this...
I feel sorry for the Dad who had to intervene, and I have absolutely no sympathy for the dead attacker.

Seeing as sexual assault is specifically listed as one of the crimes where deadly force is presumed justified, it would be hard to see this getting charged.mamabearCali wrote:I hope he is not prosecuted.

person is justified in using deadly force against another:
(1) if the actor would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.31; and
(2) when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to protect the actor against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful deadly force; or
(B) to prevent the other's imminent commission of aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery.

My wife and I were discussing this case at dinner...
I would have done the same thing and worse... they would have had to use dental records to identify this sicko!

Just saw this in the news. Waiting for the Grand Jury and hopefully they will "no bill" him, but there haven't been any charges filed yet.

I just heard a discussion of this on the Outlaw Dave radio show. Of course we don't have all of the details. IMO if this was a case of sexual assault the use of deadly force is legally and morally justified.Jumping Frog wrote:Seeing as sexual assault is specifically listed as one of the crimes where deadly force is presumed justified, it would be hard to see this getting charged.mamabearCali wrote:I hope he is not prosecuted.

Re: TX Dad defends daughter (4)
KPRC in Houston reported this evening that it had been clinically determined that the little girl had in fact been sexually assaulted.
The Lavaca County Sheriff, Micah Harmon, said there doesn't appear to be any reason that the father's story is incorrect, and that it is unlikely he will be arrested. As a matter of course, the Lavaca County Grand Jury will review the case.
I agree with Sheriff Harmon, and he sounds like a good sheriff to have.
I doubt the father will be arrested, and I predict his neighbors are all congratulating him. The tragedy we can't overlook, though, is that the justice meted out can't change what the little girl suffered.

The little girl will suffer from both the trauma of the original attack and having her father kill the attacker.Skiprr wrote:The tragedy we can't overlook, though, is that the justice meted out can't change what the little girl suffered.
