Anti NY friend of mine robbed at gunpoint

#1

Post by olafpfj »

"Dear God, when I asked for a surprise for my birthday I didn't mean an armed robbery!!!"

Robbed at gunpoint in Manhattan...thank god they have gun control there.

This is my friends current status. I don't have any news articles to back it up but I don't doubt it. I have sparred a little with him over his carry views after he posted some propaganda about the Trayvon/GZ case. Sadly I don't think this will change his mind, if anything it will make him call for more restrictions. I'm not sure how much more strict it can get in Manhattan.

His wife took over fielding comments on his status and posted "He's OK...good thing he didn't try to be a hero or anything."
Its awfully hard to be a hero without the proper equipment now isn't it... :banghead:

1) Glad he's okay

2) I don't mind if he's not the "hero" type. If he doesn't want to be able to defend himself or his wife from criminals that's his own business. I just wish he felt the same about not interfering with my ability to do so. :waiting:

I wonder if he'd feel different about interfering with his wife's rapists...........or is he one of those idiots who thinks that it is more noble to submit?

I had a good friend in New York City
He never called me by my name, just hillbilly
My grandpa taught me how to live off the land
And his taught him to be a businessman
He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights
And I’d send him some homemade wine

But he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife
For 43 dollars my friend lost his life
Id love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes
And shoot him with my old .45
Cause a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

This seems to almost match the OP's friend's situation.

As I recall the history of the Sullivan act (i.e. without looking it up again), gun control was passed largely to protect the robbers from being shot by citizens...so gun control really does work.
