Handsome Bandit caught: Another E. TX funeral guy gone bad.

The above link contains text and photos out of Mississippi, where the "Handsome Bandit" was caught.
He was so named by the police since he had a high quality face mask that he wore during a series of about 11 or 12 bank
robberies in Texas. The link also contains dashcam of the "shots fired" moment, from a Richardson PD unit, although it's not real
clear.

Remember the recent thread about the movie "Bernie"? He was Bernie Tiede from Carthage, Panola County, East Texas.
He was an assistant funeral director and murdered a long time acquaintance of his. See the other thread for the details.
He was found guilty of her murder.

Well, when they caught the Handsome Bandit, they found that he was a 44 year old Tyler man. It was not in the above
news link, but I read in another one that the BG owned a funeral home in Tyler.

His wife works (worked?) for the Bank of Tyler. They had just bought a house in Richardson, Texas (North Dallas suburb
about 90-100 miles from Tyler).

How he got caught: He was working alone, had a handgun, and did a "takeover" bank robbery in Richardson, Texas.
He fired at the cops and got away on foot, but dropped his vehicle's RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) keyfob. The cops found
out which vehicle it went to, and it appears that it was registed to him or his wife.

The BG then fled the area in his bride's red BMW, was seen by Jackson County, MS LEO's and the chase was on. They shot
out his right rear tire @ 85 MPH and he was captured.

By the way, when you look at the still photos in the above link, it appears that the uniformed LEO has a pearl-handled sidearm.
Or is is just light gray?
