Ohio Man Kills Wife and Daughter at Cracker Barrel

BROOKLYN, Ohio (AP) - A man whose wife had just told him she was leaving him shot and killed her and one of their daughters, who was celebrating her birthday, inside a crowded Cracker Barrel restaurant in a Cleveland suburb, then was killed by police as he fled.

Kevin Allen came into the restaurant in suburban Brooklyn on Thursday night with a shotgun and, witnesses said, "selectively" fired on his family. The shooting created panic and confusion in the restaurant, and a manager helped get people out through a rear door, a witness said.

Man... I don't get it! The day my ex said she was leaving was the single happiest day of my life! Maybe it was because she wasn't trying to take the kids. Even still, had I chosen to blast her, no way I could shoot one of my own kids! I have never understood how anyone could kill a blood relative! I have seen many an ex I was expecting would get shot... but none of the guys going through bad divorces would ever hurt their own kids. This story makes me sad.

I am going to add something to my post. I am not saying anything justified his actions but I do wonder what kind of clueless person announces they want a divorce at their childs birthday party?

911 was called while he was out in the parking lot. Police arrived and were actively searching the parking lot while he had already gone inside. Police were thus "on scene" yet unable to prevent the shooting.

An extreme example of "when seconds count police are only minutes away".

No, I hadn't read the entire article. Now I have the answer to my question. This guy was a real nut case and hazard to many women in the past.

Y'all talked about the violence already but the story brought up something else.

Documents filed by Kevin and Katherina Allen in federal bankruptcy court in Cleveland last year indicate they owed $60,000 to various creditors

Records also show that Kevin Allen filed for bankruptcy in 1991 and 2004, and that Katherina Allen filed for bankruptcy in 2000.

Does anyone else think bankruptcy should be a second chance, and you should only get one second chance.

It sounds like the two of them made a career out of racking up debt and not paying. Who do they think they are...Congress?
