The above link is to a Tampa, Florida news video about a storeowner who was being robbed.

The BG was a 16 year old neighborhood boy, who she knew by name. He came into her store with his gun raised.

She carries her handgun every day ON BODY in her pocket. She drew immediately, on his drawn gun, and began firing.

Note the large hole in the wall where she missed with her first shot. It doesn't seem likely that a handgun round could
make such a big hole.

This storeowner shows us several lessons, IMHO:
Concealed means concealed. The robber didn't know she was packing heat.
She was carrying her handgun loaded and on her person, not somewhere else.
She drew quickly upon seeing the BG approach with his gun.
She engaged quickly.
She engaged the deadly threat and did not let her knowing the boy stop her from protecting her own life.

It's sad when a 16 year old has so little moral direction that he robs a lady he knows.
Unfortunately for his dead self, he found out that he had made an error in the victim selection process.

While paramedics raced the suspect to the hospital, police put Baker in handcuffs and in the backseat of a patrol car.

I guess this was an important fact to report based on the fiasco reporting caused in Sanford.....
No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor. -- Murdock v. Pennsylvania
If the State converts a right into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right with impunity. -- Shuttleworth v. City of Birmingham

Shouldn't she have had to take a bullet or two before shooting? How did she even know he was going to rob her....maybe he just wanted to show off his new gun? Is $30 worth taking someone's life? Shouldn't she just have cooperated....and the poor child would still be alive, get another chance at life? How do we know she'd just didn't shoot him for the fun of it and plant the gun? It's not fair she didn't give him a warning. (just practicing my liberal speak).

wow, what a horrible position to be in for the store owner... a 16 year old child, that you know personally, comes into your store waiving a gun and you have to shoot that child to protect your own life. I'm not saying she did anything wrong (I would have done the exact same thing) but it must be a horrible feeling going through that.

At least the good guy came out OK in this situation.

My thinking is Tampa Police investigator made the hole while it retrieved the spent bullet.

A shame that a 16-year-old is dead. It might have been the store owner, had she not reacted to a threat in her place of business -- a business where no one with "good intentions" would walk in with a "drawn weapon."

The left doesn't think store owners and other productive people defending themselves are good guys. People like us are the oppressors and the thugs robbing and attacking us are our downtrodden victims. The left has already gained a small victory from the Sanford shooting --this woman was treated like a criminal (which the left considers her to be).

Maybe for Chairman Mao's Little Red Book, or Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals --I don't think the left would care much for someone planning to study the The Bible.

Poor thing, she seems really upset about it, but what else could she do? He pulled a gun on her...you can't sit there and hope that they don't fire. Sadly that young man decided that day his life was worth $30. Terrible, but his choice not hers.
