A 21 year old, who didn't want to be identified, was attacked last week.

The 21 year old victim is now of age to get his CHL, as long as he has a clean record,
plus he lives in Preston Hollow (moneyed area, close to where George W. Bush lives).

Unless a CHL has a force field, it would have done nothing for this guy. Having a gun in hand behind your back would have done nothing to save you. You would have been able to shoot the attacker AFTER you got stabbed. Once someone is on top of us like that, we are going to get hurt if they want to hurt us. The ONLY way this would have been prevented is to Refuse to open THE DOOR. I have waved off more than one door to door salesman without opening the door. I do have my firearm, but not displayed, in case the BG is a real dumb BG and attempts to come through my closed and locked door.
We should all remember that a CHL and a gun are no substitute for a little caution and common sense.

Last I checked, there is no law that requires me to open my door to uninvited guests. I have glass in my door that I can see through and I just stand away from the door a few feet and scream... "NOT INTERESTED" as I wave them away. They always leave. Lord help them if they act aggressive.
If you have a peep hole, you can do the same. "NOT INTERESTED"... it is real easy...LOL. Unless they are selling girlscout cookies. In this case I am dead meat!
