Even if the attacked person was a CHL (which may or may not have been required) and shot in legitimate self-defense, this would be a tough situation to resolve.

On a side note, should CHL's go out of their way more than others to avoid trysts that could lead to trouble?
CHL since 2/2011
Glock 26, S&W 442, Ruger SP101 .357 3",
S&W M&P 40, Remington 870 Express 12 ga 18"

New boyfriend-girlfriend-ex-boyfriend can make for exciting times. New boyfriend should have been calling 911and getting dressed after getting threatened.

"He barged into the home" and it wasn't his home, so it sounds like castle doctrine. New boyfriend was there legally, old boyfriend entered with force illegally, old boyfriend gets shot. No true bill.

I did that before I got my CHL, and I intend to continue doing so.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Sure, but it's difficult to find women who don't have at least one ex-boyfriend.

I suppose you could date high school girls. That's no guarantee you're her first boyfriend. However, if you spend the night together it will probably at your place instead of hers, so I suppose it's less likely an ex-boyfriend will innocently drop by to say hello in the middle of the night.
Tyranny is identified by what is legal for government employees but illegal for the citizenry.

Perhaps if not in LIberty County. ;-)

I have a feeling there is a lot more to this story than what was told in the link.

But you can avoid the women who are crazy (and not in that good way), as they seem to have a higher chance of having a scary ex. (At least so far for me; YMMV... a lot...)
