Calif dashcam: Gangbanger uses AR-15, flanks, kills deputy.

this kind of stuff makes me sick. i agree with Beiruty... ACID!
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

I'm going to bet he didn't have to go through a NICS to get it...and somehow I'd bet it wasn't at a gun show either...that's why all those darned laws just don't do a thing to keep the bad guys from getting what they want. Those laws just make it harder on you and I, law-abiding citizens.Beiruty wrote:I just wonder what is the defense theory ?
The poor police officer was Ambushed and killed in cold blood.
Just fry the Gangbanger in hot pan of Acid! And, I mean it. Or, stone him till death!
How in the world the BG got a rifle?

Thank you for posting this, it's one I haven't seen. As horrible as it is to watch, these things, (dashcam vid, radio traffic, body mic recordings, etc), become extremely valuable learning tools to current and future LEOs. Even as a civilian employee at my dept, I have the honor to teach our new recruits a couple of small segments in their BPOC course. After seeing this, I fully expect to be able to fit this into one of the segments I teach. Unfortunately, these horrors seem to grow in number every day.

The above link is a classic dashcam video of a Texas DPS trooper in Refugio (say it "Ruh-fury-oh" not "Ruh-fuge-ee-oh")
making a traffic stop, having to deal with 3 BG's surrounding him, being drawn upon by the BG, and operating
in a heroic manner.
When the bad guy draws on him, the trooper whirls away, while drawing, begins firing, and immediately hits the BG
despite the trooper's awkward body movements. The trooper at one point retreats into the dark night, away from his cruiser,
but when he returns to the car, the BG shows up in his rearview mirror!! The trooper and BG engage in another gunfight
and the BG is killed. Excellent police response! It could have gone bad for the trooper anywhere during this encounter.
