:iagree:

The father should go to jail since his accomplice, his son, died in the commission of a felony against the boyfriend.

Definitely no good gals.

The government lawyer is funny though. "Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman would not identify the shooter," but it happened at his home located "at 1705 Snyder Rd. in Upper Frederick Township." :biggrinjester:

Merciful Heavens, there sure is a lot of judging going on here by folk who weren't there.

What does the good book say about that?

What does the good book say about that?

...there's a big difference between judging(condemning) and discerning from the facts given what happened...the country's in a big mess because it's become politically incorrect and unpopular for us as citizens and even pastors from the pulpit to call sin sin...and say "this is right and this is wrong"...being compassionate and merciful doesn't mean saying "that's OK"...it means saying "You did something wrong, but there is forgiveness available..."

...how can we clean up our society...if we can't name the dirt??? all any of us can do is to gather the facts as presented, in this case by a news article, and draw conclusions from them...the Good Book is full of examples where the sin was forgiven...after it was called exactly what it was, and the sinner repented...so shame on us??? NOT...

That Onan was a dude, wasn't he? Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Matthew 7:1 but discussions of religion are not allowed and I'm weary of being censored. :rules:

I was thinking also of the Indian expression about ...walking a mile in another's shoes...

First, the Good Book calls us to be discerning of sin as well as forgiving. But discernment comes first.

Second, in my experience, those that at least follow the last five of the ten commandments tend to have better lives than those that don't. Following all ten is better yet.

Third, calling out sin by itself is not judgement. Only God can judge. Anyone who thinks they can determine where someone else will go at death is playing god and violating the first couple of commandments. Not a good idea.

Fourth, our society would be much better off if we went back to recognizing sin for what it is while forgiving the repentant.
