CHL holder shoots man over child custody

Obviously full story isn't in, but stories like this always detract from our good guy image... if he was the bad guy in this case.

I read the article, and I'm definitely not going to speculate without more facts.

Child custody is always an emotionally charged topic. Really, with as little information as the article gave, there's simply no way to know what happened.

The guy might have got irritated and shot. Or the guy who got shot might have threatened to kidnap. Or...or....or....I could go on all night.

Shot did hit left side of chest, so good placement. That's the only thing we might know at this point.

Too soon to say, some many possibilites. Being a CHL holder I would hope he would keep his emotions in check but of course you never know, at least the other guy survived.

The bit about eeeeeeeeeeeeevil hollowpoints...that's just good solid reporting. The lungs are vital organs last time I checked......not so solid reporting.

Just hoping that WHICHEVER side the bad guy was, that is was the ones in the story from "Mississippi" rather than the ones from Fort Worth.

It would have been nicer if the reporter wrote it like this (underline added in the second quote within the main quote above).

It looks like the shooter is from Fort Worth and the victim is from Mississippi. I would like to know more details.

It would be very useful to the CHL if there was a weapon found on the person shot. If CHL shot an unarmed person, it could end up being an upstream swim.

Hollowpoints? Not interesting at all, unless they mention the brand and give details on penetration, expansion, etc and let us know if the guy who got hit was incapacitated by bleeding or hydrostatic shock.

I'd be more interested to hear that somebody was shot with FMJs. That would be worth mentioning.

That's not going to happen in a MSM article. The liberal trope is that HP bullets are evil bullets with magical killing properties --and that is the only reason they are mentioned in the article. The media is primarily interested in provoking certain emotional responses and either ignore or lie about the facts when they undermine the desired emotional reaction.

Not always the case. I recently read a story that described the ammo used as "full metal jacket, a military surplus round" or something equally nonsensical/evil sounding to the uninformed masses. :banghead:
