I would not be suprised to read this happening at the State Fair of Texas given the neighborhoods around the Cotton Bowl area. These mob attacks seem to be happening with greater frequency and it does not appear that there is much LE can do about it.

And they will continue to happen until the consequences become severe enough to make them unviable.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Reading the comments section for almost any news article for any US paper is a guaranteed way to make you fear for the future of the republic once you realize: These are the ones actually reading the news, and they probably vote.

Well, they got the diversity they were looking for.

I bet the CHL registrations will be picking up now.

Man, my primary worry would be if I carried enough ammo . . .

And just how many rounds would you want to have available within reach in a situation like that?
Jesus said, "And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 NET) Also, Jesus said, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own homestead, his possessions are undisturbed"(Luke 11:21 NAS)

...don't count on that...the "mind" of a mob does not think like we do...it's totally unpredictable...

I would suspect the mob would shoot back.

Yes the amount of ammo would soon become an issue.

From the reports I am picturing cars slowly leaving an event at night. Bumper to bumper traffic that stops dead. You cannot now move your car and suddenly large numbers of pedestrians fill the spaces between the cars, banging on the cars, attacking the people who exit their cars to confront the people who are damaging their cars or opening unlocked doors and pulling people out.

Bad situation.

How many would I want? Oh, I dunno, how many rounds can I carry without collapsing from the weight? I could fit a couple of thousand rounds in a backpack . . .

More realistically, I'd be limited to how many rounds I am actually carrying. If that is my 1911, I would have 25 rounds (3 mags x 8, +1). If I was carrying my Para 14-45 HiCap, it would be 43 rounds (3 mags x 14, +1). So, back to my original statement, I'd be worried about whether I had enough ammo . . .

...I seriously doubt that if such a thing happened, you would survive...the question would be: "how many bodies would they have to move to get to mine?" I avoid crowds and congested areas, even parades...with a passion...too many people are near the boiling point...and they're not all fat and grey-haired, either...
