Corpus Christi: Suicide by cop

In Corpus Christi early this morning police were called to a domestic dispute that turned into a hostage situation and apparent suicide by cop.

Officers were called earlier this weekend after [the deceased] got into a disturbance at a local television station, police said. Police took him to a hospital for a psychological evaluation, though he left before seeing a doctor.

Relatives on Monday said [the deceased] had been researching several religions on the Internet and had been talking at length about the end of the world, his role in it and aliens.
