Upset does not equal in fear of your life. I hope he has lots of time to think about it in prison.

That begs the question. Why was an 11 year old child outside, apparently unattended, in someone else's yard at that time of night? Although I was called to task before, I'll say it again, "actions have consequences". Where were her parents?philip964 wrote:Upset does not equal in fear of your life. Does anyone here remember the old TV infomercial that asked, "It's 10:00 o'clock. Do you know where your kids are?" I reckon that is considered lame, intrusive and passe' by today's mores?
Just sayin'...

Whereas I agree (regarding irresponsible parents -- they ought to be flogged)...
What kind of fool SHOOTS an 11 year old girl for any reason regardless of when or where or why?

I agree that there are consequences for ones actions, but in this situation for a 11 year old girl, or boy to be shot is not acceptable.

I think that there's more to this story than meets the eye, especially because the liberal anti-gun news media is reporting it. The fact that he has no criminal record for 30 years and the little girl says that, "We always thought that he was good." It was at 10:40 pm, so maybe he thought that it was a perp breaking into his car. Visibility may have been poor at 10:40 pm at night.
I remember as a young child, a neighborhood kid got killed by a POLICE OFFICER at night because the cop thought that the toy gun the child was playing with was real. The kid was playing laser tag. My parents then promptly threw away all my toy guns.

Re: 11-Year-Old Ohio Girl Shot for Playing on Neighbor's Law
When I was growing up on Houston, we had a huge amount of kids in our post-WWII GI Bill neighborhood. At 10 years old, we played outside every Friday and Saturday night, running through neighbors' yards to well past 10:00PM and no one cared. No one got shot; no one even thought about pulling a gun in a group of kids that age. No one would shoot a 10 year old kid for walking across their lawn, or because some other kid bumped into his car. "It's 10:00 o'clock and where are your children?" Yeah, I remember that stupid commercial. How about this one, "It's 10:00 o'clock, where is your common sense; or your humanity, or appreciation of human life?"Oldgringo wrote:That begs the question. This shooting is complete crap and there's no excuse for it.

Because they want to be and because their parents apparently don't mind. What does this have to do with attempted murder?texanron wrote:Why is an 11 year old outside at 10:40pm???

We always used to run through all the yards playing hide and seek and things like that. I never imagined or even thought anyone might pull out a weapon and shoot at us.
