I guess she had to run to the apartment office because she didn't have a phone......hmmm.....gun or phone which one do I buy? If I lived in that area I would've probably chosen the gun as well!

Or, since no body was found, she knew the intruder wasn't completely incapacitated and wanted to go somewhere away from him, and where other people would be.
