I don't know if the "shower rig" actually belongs to anyone on this forum or not. Just something interesting I saw when I first started posting here. It's been making the rounds for longer than I've been here anyway. It's usually good for a few chuckles.
It does make me wonder where the line is between "cautious" and "paranoid". You're really pretty helpless in the shower. With the water running you might not hear someone breaking in or wondering around the house. They could be right there before you realize you're under attack.

It's a Glock. According to the fan-boys, you should be able to freeze it in a block of mud for a decade, drop it from the space station into the atlantic ocean, recover it from the floor of the ocean, give it a pass through a blast furnace, and it will still fire.speedsix wrote:...neat but I'd hate to try to tear that sucker open with soapy hands!!!
Is the plastic wrap actually necessary?

"Mohawk" Johnny Woodhead would say it was impossible. Of course, she wasn't a young college kid. She was only old enough to be an instructor or professor at a college that the law is aimed at.“That’s awesome that she had something to protect herself with,” neighbor Michelle Church said.
“I don’t know how she was good enough to get her gun like that,” Church said. “She’s very lucky and fortunate that she was able to defend herself. Good for her.”
But still....

...I wouldn't be pretty OR helpless in the shower...the dogs would tear it up barking before he made it to the bathroom, and if he brought steak and they didn't bark...I've raised 3 boys, and when the shower curtain moves...I know the door's open...and my .45's less than 2 feet away from my hand...how do you think I got to be this old???mgood wrote:I don't know if the "shower rig" actually belongs to anyone on this forum or not. I take a gun and a dog.
The dog lets me know when I might need to use the gun.

Timely thread...
I just (like this morning) started bringing my gun with me to the shower. I use to leave it on the bedside (which is a few feet away) but got to thinking that I don't want to be in a foot race with a burglar to my weapon when the dog starts to bark.

I guess this little .22 wasn't told that it was not big enough for self defense. Shot placement and having a gun when you need it are all that matters

For years now when I get home from work a stinless pistol or revovler goes in the medicine cabinet.

Plastic casings and rubber bullets. Or is it ceramic casings and polymer bullets? The Annoyed Man wrote:But, but.... It's Glock ammo.mgood wrote:Protecting the ammo. The Annoyed Man wrote:Is the plastic wrap actually necessary?

You'll note in this case that the BG had the time and capability to exit the home and collapse outside. With the same time and expenditure of energy, he could easily have completed a fatal assault.
Enough little holes in the right places will eventually achieve the same end result as one or two big ones in the same places.
The key word here is "eventually."
