CA: Cop-on-cop shooting during arrest cleared

At the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in Shasta County, California, last month police were trying to arrest two suspects, a husband and wife with multiple felony warrants.

They were attempting to handcuff the female suspect in rough terrain when one officer shot the other in the neck. The officer who was shot is recovering and expected to return to work.

The shooting was ruled an accident. No charges will be filed.

The male suspect is still at large.
