I know a lot of crime in Texas is done by those who have a right to be here...but such wanton murder as this is more often committed by those who have no roots here, no image to uphold, no commitment to the community, and a criminal background and/or disposition...illegals by definition fit this...it's natural and logical to ask that question...

Man, that sounds like a big assumption. You have any idea how many people named Gonzalez live in Texas? I bet most of them have direct ancestors who were in Texas before it *was* Texas. How about Julia Hernandez-Garcia? Oh wait she's the PD spokesman, she must be legal.

Does it even matter? Murder is murder.

The article sounded like he was crazy and off his pills. This wasn't some random crime, he was in the car with people he knew.

...it is an assumption...you assume he wasn't illegal...I assume he was...and, yes, to some of us, it does matter, if it were your family lined up at the mortuary, you'd be keenly interested if their killer should have even been here in the first place...that's our point...too many violent crimes committed by people who don't even belong here...and, being illegal, they are predisposed to crime...you break one law, then another, then another...it's a lifestyle...poorly enforced immigration laws encourage the criminal element from Mexico to come here...and we all pay the price...it's not a theory, it's proven fact...and getting worse daily...they're trying to turn Texas into one of their barrios...and, looking at Mexico, I don't think we really want that culture and lifestyle to take over...
