Houston Homeowner Killed During Robbery

#1

Post by WildBill »

This looks like another case of criminals staking out a small business owner to steal his cash. Police say the victim, Antonio Ortega Caranza, had a lot of cash from his work servicing taco trucks. The four robbers got away.

Is this a recent pattern of Houston robbers going in packs of 3 or 4? Seems like I keep reading similar stories. They also seem more inclined to shoot first.

I don't know if it is or not, but fighting off 3-4 bad guys isn't good odds. This story didn't indicate that Mr. Caranza gave them any reason to shoot.

Yup,

And the odds might get even worse if you are carrying a 5-6 shooter.

That's why Brady wants everyone to have a MAXIMUM of 10 .... eventually the pro-gun people will slowly disappear when bad guys take 11 guns against yours. After which, they can push their agenda easier.

Here's an update - Apparently the robbers separated the husband and his wife. Two of them took the husband to the garage while the wife was inside the house where the other two ransacked the bedroom.

The report says that Mr. Carranza was shot and killed after he struggled with the robbers. [Since there weren't any witnesses other than the BGs, I have to assume that the police found some evidence at the crime scene to support this.]

The article did not mention if the police have any leads or suspects.

It's interesting that the original headline "Houston Homeowner Killed" got turned into "Taco Vendor Shot Dead."
