"The officer whose gun went off was taken to the police station for a standard blood alcohol test." ????? Is that routine? I don't think I've ever seen it reported that after a shooting the officer is tested for alcohol.

I have never read about this either, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's departmental policy. I am sure that one of the LEOs on the forum will have the answer.puma guy wrote:"The officer whose gun went off was taken to the police station for a standard blood alcohol test." ????? A couple of years ago I had a small injury at work so they took me to the medical clinic to be treated. I was suprised that after my treatment, I had to take an alcohol and drug test. I think this is so they can lessen their liability for worker's comp, insurance or lawsuit if the person is "impaired".

same thing happened to my friend, an axle fell on his head and busted it open good enough for stitches.WildBill wrote:puma guy wrote:

they made him take the drug test (bleeding) before they took him to the ER.
