A 26-year-old man apparently stole the gun of his brother – a Dallas police officer – and killed himself with it after attempting to rob a Far North Dallas bank Monday, police said.
Investigators said the officer, whom they declined to identify because he works undercover, did not know that his service weapon had been taken until after his brother Khalifa Tehran King shot himself.

So the police are not identifying the brother "because he works undercover", but the article gives the name of the dead man.
How hard is it to figure out who his brother is? (even if the officer is using a different name).
