IL: Man killed with own gun
And, as usual, it is the robber.
http://www.suntimes.com/news/2817026-41 ... tomer.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Synopsis in case link goes dead:
Robber hits tanning salon with female clerk and female customer. Orders customer to tie up clerk. (Note: IMO this is a very bad sign, and the point at which you start fighting back regardless of disparity of force).
Man walks in. Robber orders him to tie his own hands. Man tries to reason with robber, “Man you don’t have to do this. I’ve got a little girl at home, I’m a new daddy.” Robber says he doesn't care.
Robber reaches into bag for ropes, leaves his gun on counter. Man knocks robber to ground, grabs gun from counter. Robber grabs man, they end up on ground. Man shoots robber once, gets up. Robber is still moving, reaching into pockets. Man shoots once more. Robber dead.
Good deal.
The robber drove a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle of someone sought in a previou murder.
We had a thread on it here: http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... an#p463304" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
I don't think the tanning salon robbery was going to end with just some money gone. Kudos to the male customer that acted.

I hope the law does not give him grief for the second shot.

If he was reaching into his pockets, it's reasonable to think he is trying to retrieve a BUG or maybe knife, so he could still in fear for my other peoples life.

I love it when the outcome is good. I guess that's why I like the "Armed Citizen" section of America's 1st Freedom magazine.
Thanks for posting that.

More here: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?sectio ... id=7846892" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Apparently police think the robber's gun matches what was used in the "honeybee" killling.
Also, I originally thought three people were killed in the "honeybee" case, but was wrong. One killed, one wounded, one got away.

Keith B,
You are absolutely right.
My comment was based on the locale, and my twisted perception of the way even a totally justified use of deadly force might put a person on "thin ice" there.

Surveillance video of the event here:

The cops seem to decide pretty quick that the good guy is a good guy.

Man. look at that big bully, was he so lazy? Add to that he is an idiot to ask someone to tiehimself. Also, this guy who shot him made a quick dash to his revolver. This is a lesson to anyone to not underestimate how quickly someone can close in.
This should be classic example, why California should be shall issue state. And law abiding citizen have the right to own firearms, pistols etc in self-defense.

Thank goodness the other guy knew how to use a gun and had the courage to jump for it. The BG was obviously used to dealing only with sheep.

Man, the BG sure wasn't in any hurry, was he. Let the girl fiddle around with the rope forever, then tried to tie her arms to her ankles. She just stood up and the ropes seems to kinda fall off. How do you tie yourself up, anyway?
