In Turkey today the defendant in a criminal case was shot in the courtroom during the trial and lost an eye.
The alleged shooter was a business partner of the victim that the defendant is accused of killing. He used a "car key gun" that was capable of firing two cartridges, which he got through courthouse security.

This was a new one on me. Apparently this was the weapon used:

They are reportedly cheap and legal in Bulgaria, which happens to be conveniently close to where the shooting occurred.

I wonder if this guy is related to Plaxico (or maybe a certain DEA agent.)seamusTX wrote:This was a new one on me. Apparently this was the weapon used:

Three years ago in Manchester, suspected gang member Fabian Flowers, 19, fatally shot himself in the head while demonstrating a similar gun in a nightclub.
Re: Turkey: Man shot with "car key gun" that passed security
My first thought was, I guess he's not guilty if was shot by the person he's accused of killing. Then I read the article and realized the shooter was a business partner of the guy he was accused of killing.seamusTX wrote: The alleged shooter was a business partner that the defendant is accused of killing.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but stuff like that can't legally be imported to the U.S.pbwalker wrote:Heck, I'd buy one for the $23 USD it costs.

I"m sure it probably can't. It probably has too many parts for 922r, probably like the Glock 380 doesn't comply with toooo many import restrictions (not target trigger/sights etc). It would have to be an AOW. So, if a currently filed bill passes, we'd have to set up a factory and make them in Texas to exempt them from Federal law .seamusTX wrote:I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but stuff like that can't legally be imported to the U.S.pbwalker wrote:Heck, I'd buy one for the $23 USD it costs.

That is some interesting engineering/design
(I haven't read the bill, just heard about one similar to what some other states passed)
