Sword-swinging 'Ugly Betty' actor Michael Brea slays mother for being 'sinner,' police sources say
When police arrived around 1:15 a.m., they met neighbors urging them to head inside - but opted to stay in the hallway despite the commotion.

"At one point, the mother opened the window and screamed, 'Help, he's going to kill me!' " said neighbor Andrea Natoli, 25. "I saw blood on the window sill. Blood all over it."

Cops left but returned after yet another 911 call at 1:59 a.m., a police source said.

But New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said during a news conference officers were following police procedures.

"When there is a barricade situation, responding patrol officers, if possible, wait for emergency service officers to come," he said.

Michael says, "I was slashing my mom and I heard the police knocking on the door yelling, 'Michael, open up, Michael, open up,' but I knew they wouldn't open the door and stop me because the spirits were protecting me ... I just kept cutting her. No one could stop me. I was doing the work of God."

Michael Brea, the actor accused of decapitating his mother with a Masonic ceremonial sword, was arraigned from a New York City hospital prison ward Friday on charges of second-degree murder.

New York City - Now the cops and administrators are afflicted with Kitty Genovese syndrome! Sad, Sad. Totally indefensible behavior for the police to ignore a crime in progress no matter what protocol nonsense is spouted after the fact! Just MHO.

HELP!!!

There are way to many swords on the street in NYC! They must be coming in from sword friendly states. Somebody do something, pass a "no swords allowed" law or something.

Somebody help us, please.

If they cared about the lives of innocent victims, they wouldn't enforce unconstitutional laws disarming innocent victims.
