Never even occurred to me that the title meant exactly what it said. I processed it as something about demented murderers in California. But as demented and sickening as this is, I think this group of idiots is nowhere near to as sick as it can get.

I'm a bit of an animal lover myself, and I simply have to skip many of these articles because I can barely stand to read them and they haunt me afterwards for weeks.
