MD: Baltimore police arrest CHL after he saved a man’s life
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/20 ... ng-armed-/
He stopped an armed man beating a man with his gun.
He did not even draw his weapon.
Police thanked him, then arrested him for having a gun within 100 feet of a public building.
He has rejected a plea deal.
Did I mention he is a Marine veteran and martial arts specialist and disarmed the BG with his hands only.
A Police Lt. at the scene required the arrest.
Although Maryland CHLs are accepted in many states Maryland does not accept other states CHLs. Sounds like a perfect SCOTUS case.

very weird indeed. no carry within 100 feet of a public building. the marine was (according to the news paper) in the building when the attack occurred and then he jumped into action save the man? if so i see him pressing the "save people from harm" coming into play.
he can ask judge if he was to stand by and watch a guy get beat to death or save him?
MD i fear will not back down and will seek maximum penalty, if he does not plea. will MD want a plea to avoid a trial?
he is right in regards to no plea deal
but if the law says no carry within 100 feet and your inside already...well you broke the law prior to the lifesaving event occurred ,

MD has a sordid history with CHLs. I cannot find the story link but police in MD stopped a guy and then arrested him when they found out he had a CHL from another State (FL, I think) but he did not have a gun on him or with him in hte car. Like NY and NJ, the prosecutors try to make an example out of anyone they find. I've posted here multiple times about the 12 miles on I-81 through MD that I have to drive on going from Dallas to PA to visit my SIL. It is the only distance where my Texas LTC is not honored in a 1,500 mile trip. I worry about the MD police even honoring FOPA if I were stopped. MD is one of several States who make a mockery of our Constitutional rights.powerboatr wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 3:20 pm very weird indeed. no carry within 100 feet of a public building. the marine was (according to the news paper) in the building when the attack occurred and then he jumped into action save the man? if so i see him pressing the "save people from harm" coming into play.

The headline should read, "Police Lt ensures that private citizens will no longer step in to help others in physical danger."

Nothing surprising here from Maryland. What caught my eye was that this veteran Marine security expert was carrying a .22.

I don't know if it is a misprint or not, but supposedly a Baretta M9 .22, of which there is such a thing.
An officer asked where the gun was, and Mr. Muldrow, his light gray suit stained with blood, told him that his firearm was holstered on his hip. The officer pulled back his jacket and removed his gun, a .22 caliber Beretta M9.

If I need to use deadly force, I have no intention of getting up close so I need a stopping round. If this guy was capable of putting that 22 against your forehead and pulling the trigger. You would be dead. Not my personal recommendation but there are folks who use the .22 as a self defense weapon.

Re: MD: Baltimore police arrest CHL after he saved a man’s life
lawerence jones on fox just reported the marine was NOT in the bar/eatery
he was on the street and ran into the place to save the woman from being pistol whipped
so i amend
if he was outside and not in violation, but chose to run in and stop a dangerous event
GREAT job
i suspect now that its getting wider media attention and then the soft on crime bits of repeat offenders getting a revolving door,
hopefully this Marine gets a thanks you from MD vice a jail sentence
