He was a licensed security guard, which apparently let him skip background checks. Dunno if/how that ties in with him having a CHL.
According to the Permanent Brady Permit Chart (maintained by the ATF), there is no Florida license that bypasses the NICS check. :tiphat:

What we seem to know so far:
1 nightclub in Florida is GunFree zone no guns allowed in clubs, (all massacres are in gun free zones/ sitting ducks soft targets)

2 In Florida Islamic Extremist Imam says “Only way gays & lesbians can be forgiven is die” & so this guy thinks he helped them get forgiven
http://www.barenakedislam.com/2016/04/0 ... ing-to-do/

3 ISIS warned of Florida attacks 3 days ago https://t.co/NJRzvtqXsO

4 Shooter was a.....registered #Democrat

5 Man With Weapons And Possible Explosives Arrested; Was Going To L.A. Pride Festival - https://t.co/Ip76qKUuuJ

6 so ... Liberals IMMEDIATELY call for gun control ... since it's already a gunfree zone by law, I guess that means bigger signs?
What about the explosive suicide vest he wore? need another sign and law probably ...

In this Holy month of Ramadan, the month of worshiping, forgiveness, and generosity, the month of mercy we witness such heinous criminal act. Call it terrorism, call it criminal, call it viscous, call it a savagery. Call it whatever you want, nonetheless, It is un-Islamic act. Such act is nothing but a result of Wahhabi violent ideology justifying targeting innocent civilians.
Innocent Muslims are being killed in thousands on the hands of ISIS, a freaky bunch of international criminals whose sole purpose of existence is to live to kill. ISIS violent-ideology is like cancer, it metastasis all across the globe.
Muslims all around have to rise and fight such Wahhabi-violent ideology of indiscriminate killing for the sake of killing. Condemning it in words is not enough. All the humanity shall rise and fight those who target innocent civilians wherever they are.
Thank you, Beiruty. Well said.

Romney had already lost the election by the time sandy hook happened. I strongly feel if he had won, he would have had the support in the Senate to pass the useless gun law they proposed

Fox News is reporting that ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Had to wait to chime in on this one as my blood was at the boiling point.

Beiruty, you've hit it right on the head.
Many are unaware of the Wahhabi component. You pointed it out and you are 100% right on.

The fanaticism comes largely from Saudi's, and they need to have their stinky feet held to fire for many things, and in my opinion, they are a huge contributing factor to this mess.

I'll say no more. Prayers for victims and their families.

Beiruty,
Spot on Sir. Unfortunately, daesh has a way of perverting anything in order to suit their aims. I'm not sure if you're tracking this, but in late May their spokesperson released an announcement calling for lone wolf attacks here & in Europe to coincide with the month of Ramadan. From what I understand, Ramadan 2016 is from early June till around 5-6 July (please correct if I'm wrong).

Praying for all involved, speedy recovery to the wounded, healing for loved ones of those lost, & vigilance against the madness.

Investigated twice. Last time in 2014.

Why are the liberals calling for gun control? Guns were completely illegal at this location. How much more control can you have than guns being completely illegal?

There was complete and total gun control at this club. That's why 50 people lost their lives. Because of gun control.

They want to destroy all semi-automatic rifles in US. The only rifles allowed are 3-rds bolt rifles for hunting purpose only.

21-yrs ago, Same Wahhabi-terrorists assassinate this Honorable person, Shiekh Nizar Al-Halabee in Beirut, Lebanon.
Image

Why? As response to his famous statement: "We will never be silent, we will never waver, we will never stop from warning the people from deviant ideology of Wahhabism"

Less than week or so after his statement. 3-5 assassins-terrorists riding on motorcycles attacked and killed him:

Swore allegiance to ISIS.

I am concerned just like in Paris, that many of these venues do not have enough exits and the exits they do have are concentrated at the front, when if controlled by a terrorist do not leave any way for the people to quickly exit. That and of course this was likely a gun free zone, so no one can defend themselves by shooting back.

Horrible.

RIP
Everyone 'exiting' is part of the problem when there is an 'active shooter' situation that occurs in a small space.

Reportedly there were 320 patrons in the building and ONE terrorist. What would happen if 200 people charged the shooter instead of offering him their backs as they ran!

The answer of course is: They would quickly overpower him and end the threat.

Yes it would come at some 'cost' and certainly it goes against the 'nature' of most folks, but we need to give this some thought.

SURELY there were strong, able bodied men in the room. Did NO ONE fight back?

These are different times folks. 'Running' isn't always going to be the best thing to do.
Spartans ask not how many, but where!
