I just drove by the Elm Fork Range and it is under about 3-4 feet of water. The shooting benches are even under water!

My wife drives by there every day and told me the same thing last night.
It's a darn shame, but has happened many times before.

I have been shooting there since the mid 70's. I have seen water all of the way up to the club house.
It is on City of Dallas land in the bottoms of the Trinity River, and floods often.
I spoke to the woman who runs it last Friday, and due to the amount of water being released she knew they would be under.
Anyone up for some, "if the big flood hits" shooting practice?

Does that mean if we get a row boat we can practice shooting from a boat.

Elm Fork IDPA stages from "Derrick" on DFWShooters.org forum:
Stage 1:
start by rolling in the mud 3 times. Remove your pistol from the IDPA box, which will be underwater. Engage enemy forces trying to repel you from the beach.
Stage 2:
start position under water. Come up out of water quietly, with swim mask and snorkel on, ready to kill enemy forces trying to repel you from the beach.
Stage 3:
start position in underwater box designed to mimic the diver's compartment on a sub. Hold breath, open hatch, and swim to shore, engage enemy forces trying to repel you from the beach.
Stage 4:
start position in a sampan. Row upstream, engaging VC in the bush on your way to rescue downed air force pilot. When you reach the pilot (mannequin), drag him into the boat, engaging enemy forces trying to stop you with strong hand only. Back in the boat, proceed downstream, engaging remaining VC that you neglected to neutralize on the way upstream.

I'll bring my SCUBA gear for taping targets.
As long as there is not any carp shotting going on, of course. They still haven't developed a bulletproof wetsuit yet.

This is gonna be awesome!!! I'll have to bring my HK underwater pistol!! I'm thinking mosquitoes will suck the blood out of us before the match starts, but we can try!!
What a shame....I'm already going through withdrawals. Gonna need a bigger support group!

Man we are growing exponentially by the hour. Soon we will take over the world.
