Looking in the “Guns & Ammo Magazine range locations web site, I found a listing for Texas Shooters Range located @ 1106A Witte Rd, Houston TX 77055. Do any of you know if this is a public range or do it really exists and in operation?

In advanced, Thanks

Yes this range exists.

It's Memorial Oaks Shooting Club and it is an indoor public range.

Here is the website: http://moschouston.com/Home.html

What part of town are you in? There are several ranges around Houston and they all offer something different depending on what you are looking for.

I'm in the Beltway 8 & Tomball Hwy area, I qualified at 59 Gun Range via Instructor Randy Foster of Metro Police and have been there a few more times. Looking for a better ventilated range where the wife can get some live training before going for her CHL. After looking at the Memorial Oaks web site it very well be on my list of possibilities.

Rip:

For an indoor range, you might try Shooters Station on SH 105 west of Conroe.

Jason:

I believe that Gary Burris is a big factor at that ladies night at that range.

You may also consider Top Gun.

I believe that they have better ventilation and more training classes (including ladies).

Memorial Oaks is a fantastic place. Very nice folks and very safety conscious. You can also shoot high powered rifles and full autos on the far two lanes. They also sell really cheap re-loads.

My range, the Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range should be open by August or Sept. We are near Willowbrook off of FM1960 between Cutten and Champions. The one thing we are really priding ourselves upon is that we have a very unique system to cool the place that should keep the range area fairly nippley. Come by anytime and check us out!

I hold an annual membership at American Shooting Centers on the west side of town, out by George Bush Park up some ways from the TANG Armory near West Oaks Mall. It's a decent outdoor range, I've got no complaints. I usually shoot my handguns from the 15 yard range (longest), regardless of barrel length. My rifles I've only messed with on the 50 yard range, though they have a 100 yard range also. They also have trap & skeet ranges, too, but those memberships are pricer, and I don't shoot much trap or skeet to justify paying extra for that in my membership, which is a basic rifle/pistol membership. I do like that they have 2 "shotgun lanes" set up on the rifle range where you can cut loose with a 12ga or 20ga against a large paper target, just to get in a little practice with a scattergun that way.

The range officers are good, very safety conscious, etc. I like to go early of a morning, before it gets too crowded.
Their CHL classes are always booked well in advance, and only on weekends, so I will be looking to Top Gun for my CHL needs, I think.
