Does anyone have any insight on this range?
They have been kicking this project around for a few years now. A few months ago they finally broke ground and placed a "Coming Soon" type sign on US377 in front of the location. After the first rough grade for the pad, work has all but stopped.
It sounds like it will be a top notch facility, if one believes all that has been outlined in press releases, but it may be a while before it becomes a reality (if ever)

I think work has been delayed (permits and things like that, I would assume) and the opening (according to the website) is scheduled for the fall.
there's actually a thread on here detailing some of this stuff, search for shooting ranges by author extremist, and that'll getcha pointed in the right direction.

Jason, thank you for your question. The project is still very much on. Weare currently in the process of closing our construction loan. Should not be too much longer before you start seeing dirt moved.

Regarding: Range Construction
Comments: I drive past the site where your facility is to be constructed daily during my commute. I have yet to see any activity at the site and was wondering when, if ever, will the range begin construction? I've heard rumors that its a bust, hope it isnt true. Please send me some good news!
Thank you,
Jason

Good Deal!
I (we) have a little family owned restaurant in Roanoke and look forward to the day they actually get the doors open. It would be nice to do a little "horse tradin" with 'em for some range time

Where is your restaurant? We teach CHL at the Roanoke Rec Center, and are always looking for a good place to go for lunch during, or dinner after, class.

They have opened a full-service gunsmith shop along with the range. The gunsmith shop is currently up and running accross the street from the site of the range. You can visit the website for information
http://www.AdvancedGunworks.com
THey say they have a Master Gunsmith with nearly 30 years experience and most recently with the FBI and Hostage Rescue Team in Quantico, Va. and can handle any firearms, including NFA (Class3)

The website has nothing, still under construction. Can you give any more info about "across the street"?
Across Hwy 377 is nothing but the railroad track.
Across the cross street (Parish) is an empty lot.
Across Hwy 170, maybe?

website says 620 Henrietta Creek, which is a hunder yards north and due west from the range. As I drive by, it seems they must be by Sellingers POwer Golf and Fastenal over there in those office/warehosues. They are partners. I was told there head gunsmith is from the FBI, Hostage Rescue Team and is one of the most respected in the country.

I met him once last year, but can't recall his name. Would have to call the guys at Advanced to ask them.
