The range was off some smaller roads and out in the middle of God's country. It wa a nice, peaceful setting with multiple pistol bays set up perfectly for IDPA. I attended a match there and was very comfortable with the way things were ran. Safety first, friendly, knowledgeable people who were very nice to newcomers and quick to hand out a good ribbing to the regulars. I got a chance to see quite a few of the regulars who attend matches out at Elm Fork in Dallas. I thought "So, this is where the big dogs come to play". Didn't notice alot of first timers or beginners there, though.
Everyone took a hand at taping targets, moving stuff for the area cleanup (no doubt things are being done to keep things tidy for the State Match). After the shoot was over, everyone helped cleean up and a great time was had by all. I even got to join the club
So, next time you decide to put off a trip out to Greenville because it's too far, don't Head on out plenty early and help set up or hang out and meet some people. It's a great way to spend a saturday afternoon.
