Shooting Clubs or Groups in NE Houston?
I recently purchased a Glock 19 at Sportsman's Outlet (before the fire) and was using the range there. I took their basic handgun class and was ready to start going regularly and had met a few people there who were very proficient at providing tips. I am currently looking for both a range to go to until they open back up but also a group to shoot with in order to benefit from others experience. Are any of you in any groups or clubs with open membership? If so how would one get an invite? My Conceal Carry class is not until May 19 so I have some time to wait given what I have read about turnaround times.

Thunder ...
Try Thunder Gun Range in Conroe.
At Thunder is Thunder Tactical Shooters, an IDPA-style club.
They're great people and you can learn and practice a lot.
They are on the web, plus look for SRVA on the forum.

neal6325,
Thunder Tactical Shooters has a practice match every Wednesday evening at 6:30. We have a sanctioned IDPA match on the second Saturday of every month and an open practice session every Sunday after 10:00 am. We also have a carbine match on the first and third Sunday of the Month. Come on out and bring your gear.

Thunder is an excellent place to meet with a group. You'll learn a lot hanging with them.

Here is the range outside of Crosby. It is an outdoor membership range.

Donna and I were there from about 10:00 until noon practiceing and didn't see you. Hope to catch you next time. When you sign in, tell the clerk you want to meet the "IDPA" people and they will bring you out. We have a match next Wednesday evening and I'll be there practiceing next Saturday at 9:00.

Steve - was finally able to join you all out at Thunder Range and today (Sunday) and wanted to thank you all for your hospitality and the very generous nature in which everyone was to share their knowledge and experience.
I look forward to joining you all again on Wednesday.
