With the summer heat fast approaching, I still want to shoot my rifles, just indoors in the a/c. Call my a pansy, I'm just getting older and with my condition, I already sweat more than the average human. Is there anything like this in the dfw area? Preferably something close to Denton.

I wished we had something like that. I guess it would cost a lot money to operate. However, it is worth it.

However, one is coming soon to Frisco, TX.

The only one I'm aware of is the rifle tube at Bass Pro, but I haven't been there in so long I don't know if they still have it or not. I think it is 100 yards and not just 100 feet.

It's odd that there are two in Austin (both owned by the same person). Odder still that there isn't a single one in the DFW area.

FYI: The 100yd indoor ranges here aren't all that awesome in the summer. Yes there is air circulation, but it's really just circulating outside air that's just slightly cooler.

Bass Pro in Grapevine is the only one I know of. One shooter at a time, but they take reservations.

Funny to see this.....I just told my wife last night that I was going to build a new backstop that I could shoot at from the front porch, where I could place a large fan to help avoid some of the South Texas sauna.

I went to visit my parents a few weeks ago when my mom retired, and shot a pig from their kitchen - 140 yard shot. Of course, that was in East Texas and not DFW, but it was nice to take the shot from the air conditioning.

My ears are still ringing, but I'm not sure if that is from the sound of the little 6mm going off, or from the rapping my mother gave me on the top of the head with her wooden spaghetti spoon. :???:

My existing range is out back of the house, and I've considered shooting from inside in the utility room, but my dog would freak, so I'll have to settle for the front porch and a fan.

I wouldn't want to shoot any quantity from inside a house - firearms do put out a good bit of lead and other contaminates that you really don't want in your system. Modern indoor ranges scrub the air and keep fresh air blowing on you, which wouldn't be practical in your house.

Shoot from a hallway, muzzle near the door, with a large fan blowing from behind you.
