My neighbors son just turned 21. He bought a pistol - his first - likes long arms and has experience with them. He is looking for some economical places to get some pistol training. He is a neat kid, and if he lived close we would know exactly where to send/take him! I tried to search and got a headache trying to sort through all the results. He works near Cheaper than Dirt - I am not familiar with the area. Many of the suggestions in the search seemed pricey for a young man getting started. Any suggestions? Any Mentors out there?
Thanks kindly!

Two come to immediate mind.... assuming he lives somewhere on the north side of FW (that's where CTD is located), he might want to drop by Shoot Smart (
http://www.shootsmartusa.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ), located on IH-35W about six miles north of CTD (west side service road between Golden Triangle and Heritage Trace). They have pistol training courses as well as the CHL courses. Rates seem to be pretty good (I did my CHL there for $100) and the indoor facility is great.
There's also Crossfire (
http://www.crossfire-training.com/content/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) who work out of Cabela's in north Fort Worth (about seven miles north of CTD). Primarily CHL training, you could check with them to see if they provide, or know someone who they recommend, additional pistol training. They're here on the forum, so perhaps they'll see this and pipe in. Though I've never had any dealings with them, except for the fingerprinting for the CHL, they do come highly recommended on the fourm.
There are, of course, a whole buncha ranges in the Fort Worth area, but these are the two closest to his work. If he lives in another part of the metromess....

Thanks folks!
I will pass along the info! Hoping to bring another into the ranks of responsible armed citizens.
