in Lewisville, Denton County, Texas. Their site is on Valley Ridge, about 1/4 mile down from the "new car"
side of Ford Country.

October Update

The Time Has Come..............
First Shooter
In Range!
Grand Opening Scheduled for
Saturday, October 27

Fellow Shooters,

We had our soft opening this past weekend for all our Founding Members! Over two hundred showed up to pick up their membership cards and some of them did a little shooting! The line of customers wound around the sales counter and outside the front door and we are grateful for the patience and courtesy shown by all!

It was a truly successful weekend and everyone seemed very pleased by the new facility and the state-of-the-art equipment. Even though the temperatures were a warm 85 degrees outside, the shooting area remained at a comfortable 74 degrees!

Our doors will be open for business this coming Tuesday, October 16th at 10 am and we welcome all shooters to come and visit us.

We have lots of rental guns and quite a bit of inventory already in the store. So, come on by and bring your favorite firearm, or choose one of ours.

Our first two CHL classes are on the calendar and are starting to fill up quickly. If you've considered getting your CHL, these will be great classes to join. They are scheduled for November 3rd and 11th and additional classes will be listed as they become available. We are working hard to get all the info on our website as quickly as possible. If you are ready for the CHL class, just go to our website at http://www.eaglegunrangetx.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on the "Training" button, then on the "Concealed Carry" button. Choose your date and sign up early before the class is filled.

It is hard to believe after all these months of waiting, we can finally open our doors! We appreciate the patience each of you has shown, as well as the support and encouragement over these many long months.

Got bullets? Let's go shooting.

Note: This broadcast email does not accept replies. If you wish to contact us, please open a new email window and send to info@eaglegunrangetx.net.

I went and shot Saturday at the "soft opening" event for members. The facility was nice, and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. They have nice classrooms and a lounge area too.

I think I overheard that their policy is a RO for every six shooters, and I certainly felt safe, with some kind of bullet resistant plates between the shooters' booths, an easy-to-use target retrieval system, and a heavy-duty ventilation system blowing fresh air from behind the shooters toward downrange.

I did email before the event and ask about their CHL Policy: here it is:
The policy for CHL holders is to conceal your firearm as you would in any other public place while in the retail area and do not remove it from your holster until you are on the range and in front of a bench. As a side note, we do not currently allow drawing from the holster to shoot, but you may remove it from the holster the first time and do not reholster until you are prepared to leave the range. The firearm must be reholstered before you leave your bench to come back into the retail area and be concealed again at that point.
The regular price is $20 per shooter per day, with a $5 discount for a second shooter sharing a lane ($15). A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for in Dallas, and as I live less than a mile away, a membership was a no brainer for me.

the range prices are 15.00-20.00 all over the D/FW area so they are on target in that area.
target master is 16.00
bullet trap is 18.00
winchester is 15.00
I think garland is 15.00
and the new one out in mesquite is about the same

F/W is about the same unless you go to the shooters club on 28th and they are 10.00

Well, of the ones I frequent (primarily because one is on my commute and the other is near family):
Elm Fork recently increased to $16
Bass Pro recently increased to $12
The new Shoot Smart (probably a good comparison) is $15 for weekdays, and $18 for weekends, with half off for the second shooter.

I guess I said I thought it was a bit pricey because my brain is stuck on prices from years ago, so anything over about $10 sounds expensive. Also, The $15 for the second shooter is a bit excessive (IMHO) when it doesn't cost the range a bit more.

I'm a bit disappointed that for $20 or even a $5 dollar added fee for a private lane that I cannot do double or triple taps. The one shot per second is no different than any other place. So, is it worth the price for A/C in the summer, probably. Is it much more convenient to go here for some than the next closest range, certainly. Will I shoot here, :grumble yeah. I'm not going to go running up there ASAP, but I'll get there. Who knows, maybe I'll like it and it'll become my go to range, but I'll still :grumble about one shot per second.

I looked and they're about 35 miles from me, but only about 20 miles from work. I may have to try them out. I would like to be able to work on the accuracy of my double and triple taps for IDPA.

I drive by this range twice a day. I've been in a couple of times, and enjoyed both trips.

Next trip will include the wife, since it's $5 for the better half from 6-9 on Tuesdays.

What can you shoot there? Just pistols and pistol-caliber carbines? Any NFA allowed?
