Just got back from shooting at the DFW gun range for the first time. It was nice. Clean show room and range. Nice staff as well. Gun prices were a little on the high side. I'll probably be back.

I haven't heard of that one. How are their prices?

Cost me an $18 range fee.

I was there on Sunday. I thihnk they have the shoot/no shoot video system there as well.

A good friend highly recommends their Jui Jitsu class. Now that's a great idea, a martial arts class & shooting range at the same facility.

I've had mostly positive experiences there.

But the range fee sure shoots a twenty dollar bill after taxes. Unless they've added lighting since the collapse of the roof last year, the lighting was pretty dim too.

I went there this weekend.
Well, Saturday we went at 1:30, waited until 2:00, then left. they were too busy with a bunch of yahoos from Australia that "were in the Military," so, you know, they had to be baby stepped through how to shoot a handgun.....
it was really busy, and not the range's fault, but I didn't have the time.
went back on Sunday, right at 1:00, and man, it was busy then too!
had two guys working, with a crowd of people standin' around just starin'
seemed like somebody needed to take charge, or herd the cattle away from the counters, as it made it difficult to determine any type of line.
it took, on average, 15-20 minutes to get any single person from standing at the counter, to actually walking into the shooting area.
and I agree, the lighting in the range was terrible.
The staff, however frustrated, or understaffed, was rather friendly, and My Gal even said they made her feel at ease, there.
there was a guy shooting at the range with his 5yr old. Now this guy musta known somebody, or worked there, or something, cause he was there, the whole day, shooting everything from a shotgun to his lil revolver. dude kept trying to chat with this SWAT lookin' dude next to him, and more than once inadvertently flashed our booth with a loaded gun. having a gun pointed at me, well, don't really make me too nervous, but this guy was a creep, and I personally didn't appreciate it.
watching him pull from his holster and unload his six-shooter from the hip with reckless abandon really put me off.
now before ya'll bust my chops about alerting the "range folk," they were walking around plenty, and had no trouble seeing what he was doing through the glass that seperates the sales area and the range.

On the whole, not a terrible place. seems like it has alot of potential, and maybe I caught the place on a bad day, but considering the alternatives....

@casselthief: I had been going to DFW last year when I first moved. Noticed the same popularity issues. After a few months, I found it's usually pretty easy to get in during the evenings. On the weekends, it was a toss up because sometimes they had classes going. But, not all the classes are gun related so it may look blown out but they'll have plenty of range space available. Can't say that I ever encountered a wait there in terms of wanting to shoot. Counter wait time has been anywhere from instantaneous to 10 minutes. Depends on the foot traffic.
