Woo!

Post by Dave2 »

Today I learned that shooting ranges aren't nearly as much fun as a few good friends and a large backyard with a berm at one end. :fire :fire :fire

Ok, so where can I get a house out in the middle of nowhere and still have a reasonable commute to the northern central DFW area?
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

My friend called, pickin me up this morning to go shoot my XD45, Glock 26, PT709, PF9, some 1911s and other stuff outdoors in a couple hours.... North of Austin, South of Lampasas though, a bit far from DFW.

Have you watched Hickok45 on YouTube? Dude has an impressive setup on quite a bit of land in Tennessee. It helps that they have hills there (I live in Houston). I'd love to have some land like that too. I'd go broke buying ammo though. :fire

Land directly north of Dallas is kind of expensive, but there is a bunch of it all the way to the Red River.

Land isn't quite as expensive east of Dallas - Greenville up to Bonham.

Either way, you are probably going to have to drive 45 minutes to an hour.

I bought some cheap land up in OK but it is a 2 1/2 hour drive for me.

45 minutes isn't that much worse than what I've got now, but an hour is pushing it, at least for a daily commute.
