Near Houston a range with "loose" rules
I have been to American Shooting Center and Top Gun ranges. Every range is very strict on what you can do. While I appreciate them keeping me safe from myself and others, still... Are there ranges around Houston where I could shoot some cans, fruit, etc.. like rapid fire?

Check out http://www.psc-range.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for more info. While they won't let your shoot "stuff" you can at least draw from a holster. Please don't misunderstand, they are a very safe range and will not tolerate anything less, check them out.

as long as you pick up the pieces of it.terryg wrote:They will let you shoot balloons ...
Texas-Guy, if you want to head out to PSC-Range some day, let me know, Ill take you out and show you around, and we can go over the rules there and you can even bring a weapon or multiple weapons, you could do that as well.
if you want to shoot cans, and other stuff (other than paper or balloons), you would probably need to know someone with a private piece of property and shoot there.

Impactzone is a private rnge that is geared toward competive, tactical and NFA shooters.
You must contact the range owner Phil O (see website) to talk to him directly about membership.
He is partucular , becuse of what he allows.
Most weekends have some kind of competition (IDPA, USPSA, XD club & # gun) and training classes (Hoffner, etc.).

Re: Near Houston a range with "loose" rules
Ever shot at a range where people can shoot up fruit, cans, etc and not clean up after a hot summer day (or, worse, an apparently unwanted 100lb side of beef)? I'm not saying you'll be that person, but any range that permits such things inevitably gets jerks that leave a mess, and that stuff is horrid. Bugs I didn't even know existed multiply by the millions around that kind of crap, seemingly in the space of 10 seconds on a hot summer day. Not to mention the smell.TexasGuy wrote:I have been to American Shooting Center and Top Gun ranges. Every range is very strict on what you can do. If you want to do stuff like that, you're far better off having a "friend" that has acreage where you can shoot to your heart's content. Me, I'm grateful the ranges I go to don't allow that.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.
Re: Near Houston a range with "loose" rules
Gun emporium up in Conore is pretty relaxed but still has rules to follow. Nice place to shoot.
Re: Near Houston a range with "loose" rules
i think the texas city gun range is the most strict personally.
