Definitely attending. Anyone want to meet up? Great time to start IDPA as well. As a first time shooter, cost is only $10 at the club house for your score sheet and the nrage fee is waived for first timers. The people at the matches are always top notch.

With tonights low being 29 and 53 for a high tomorrow, I'm thinking some warmer clothes would definitely be in order. You won't see me out there in a 5.11 vest and a t-shirt!!! Gonna be a wee bit chilly out there!

Age_ranger, I'd like to join you out there. What time does it start? Is there any info about it on a website somewhere?

Starts at 10am and goes until 2 or until we finish. Usually earlier. It's at the Elm Fork Shooting Range in Dallas. Their site is here:

http://www.dallaspistol.com/DAPS/default.aspx

You can find it on their calendar under "events" here:

I'll probably be wearing a white Beretta hat. Not sure about jacket yet. Should be pretty cool first thing, but is supposed to warm up slightly. Can't wait. Work has had me swamped and I haven't been in weeks.

They've got a raffle going on for an STI pistol. Tickets are $10 each. You can join in by clicking on the buy tab.

Great. See you out there. I'll probably just watch since I've never done that kind of shooting before and I'm not rigged up for it, but it sounds like a blast!

Definitely going to buy some tickets for that STI raffle. That's a nice-looking gun.

I thought the same thing the first time I went. I wish I had brought my pistol. If you have a holster, 2 mags and a pistol, you can shoot. It's alot of fun even if you walk through the course of fire. Up to you, but it's a blast! See you there.

I'm Shaun, by the way.....

Shaun,

I was right. It was a blast and I was just watching!

I'm already planning on participating in one of the next shoots. Just have to pick up one of those magazine holders and I'll be set.

Thank you and Charles for showing me around out there and explaining how it all works. I'll see you at the next one.

It did manage to warm up slightly around noon. Still a bit chilly, though. It was great meeting you. (great guy, folks) It was a relatively small group. Seems it dies down a bit in the winter months due to the weather, but it's alot of fun as you can tell. They even accomodated a guy today who had no holster. They placed it in its box between stages and had him begin at the low-ready.

You didn't miss too much. I was obviously very rusty but had a good last few stages. DAPS (Dallas Action Pistol Shooters) posts the scores up on their site so you can see how terrib....I mean great everyone did
Looking forward to the next match. Hope to see you there!
