Email I received this morning said the range will be open tomorrow and the work finished on Friday.

"Road word update
The entire range will be closed Tuesday, May 11th. as the road work continues Work will continue on Wednesday, May 12th, but the range will be open. Normal operations will resume on Thursday, May 13th."

We just came back by that way an hour or two ago, and trucks were working at the highway end. Noticed some interesting black stuff on the roadway....

I was out there last week and whatever they had put down on the road made a big difference in the amount of dust. Of course, I haven't been out there this week so it could be paved for all I know :biggrinjester:

We have added a new eNewsletter feature to the website that let's us communicate much better with our members. If you want to receive these notices, go to http://www.psc-range.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and sign up for the eNewsletters.

The road is being completely redone. It will be smoothed, crowned and they are putting in a mixture that includes Portland cement. This will set over time and the road is supposed to be very hard and last much longer. It also will greatly reduce or eliminate dust!

The electric gate actuator will also be operation very soon. Initially, people will use a keypad, but we are moving to smart cards that will not only open the gate, it will log people in so we can do away with the manual log sheets.

We are also adding additional pistol bays, but that's another story.

Chas.

Thanks Charles, and everybody else. Nobody more exited about it than me. I may have to pass the hat for the increase in ammo I'm gonna be needing though.

I guess I need to give it a chance but so far the new road to PSC is not too impressive. Inside the range is even worse. That could be a first class range someday if you didn't have to off road to get to it. I realize that possibly the average gun guy doesn't care what his vehicle looks like.. I have been going to PSC for over 30 years with other members and it has always been the same mess.

I know it's not perfect but it sure is a lot better IMHO. The electric gate is so much better!! As for the road, yeah, there will still be some dust but it's not anywhere as dusty as it was before they did the work.

This may be the most inaccurate statement I've seen in years. It's a dirt road, but hardly "off-roading." I drive a Corvette and I have no problem at all. As SSKimber asked, are you a PSC member?
