THE RANGE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL THE SALE AND TRANSITION IS COMPLETE TO THE NEW OWNERS.

Active paying memberships, will be addressed accordingly. Promise!
BTW, the weather conditions still have not improved enough for the facility to be open. We would like to attempt to turn the facitliy over to the new owners in 'good' condition,

WELCOME TO ADRENALINE PROVING GROUNDS!
The City of Greenville (Police Department) is now the new owner of the Range Complex, not APG. APG will retain it's business status as a training company only. The website and phone numbers will remain to better serve the current members and clubs until a thorough transition is complete.
The range will remain closed until we have met with them and discuss how they wish to proceed.
ABSOLUTELY NO TRESSPASSING!!
Thank you all for your patience.
Active paying memberships, will be addressed accordingl

Will really miss this place! Great guys! They refunded my unused dues. Would not have cared if they didnt.
Went at least 20 times in 4 months I was member (20x20=$400). $200 for membership. Then refunded portion not used.
http://www.apgtraining.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; shows OOPS! THAT PAGE DOESN’T EXIST.
Owners were great guys and the members were great guys. Everyone out there I met were 'advanced' shooters and I learned a lot.

APG is now Advanced Performance Group and they are now focused solely on training rather than running a range and store. I don't know if they'll continue training with civilians as lately they've been focusing on working with military units that badly need additional hand to hand, CQB and MOUT training.
But yes, great group of guys. I'm sad to see the range go too.

I take it Greenville isn't going to open it to the public at all. Anyone know if that is right?

Can I shoot full metal jacketed ammunition on your range?
Yes. The only ammunition that is not allowed are those type that are prohibited by law..
Ive gotten my CHL Permit but cannot find a range that will allow me to shoot "Double-Taps" or practice drawing from my holster. Can I do these things on your range?
YES. In fact, we encourage practicing for Real-World situations. Our Pistol Range and Tactical Bay's facilitate all skill levels. See Range Safety Notice.

I think APG sold to the APG who were really running it. I took a combat M4 course there a couple of years ago, and it was taught by an active SPECOPS team lead.
If the new management is who I think it is, I wish them all the luck in the world.

Took a ride out there today to see if it was open. Shop locked up and gate at the range locked with a sigh from City of Greenville posted. Looks like a loss for us civilian shooters. Although Jacobs Plain is an awesome range, it's a pretty far way to go for some holster work and chrony time. Hopefully Garland public Range will still allow a chrony.

The last time I was at Jacobs Plain (earlier this year), it was pretty shot up. There were NO useable pistol target holders. Me and another shooter that was there used the rifle range for our pistol shooting. Very muddy, since we were shooting from downrange. I also questioned the arrangement of pistol/rifle ranges, as there was no berm separating them, so you probably wouldn't want to be downrange on the rifle range (change targets, etc) while the pistol range was in use.
The "Cowboy shooting" and tactical bays were interesting, but not in use at the time.
Also, only open Thursday - Sunday. And as previously noted, not exactly conveniently located.
Oh, and don't go into the office unless you carry your own oxygen suit!

Terrible news. As one of the hotbeds of Texas shooting, it's unfortunate Greenville loses APG. And it's even more unfortunate that we shooters lose it.

Thankfully, Jacobs Plain is still up and running, although it's quite a drive for most of the DFW area shooters. I'm hoping ot get back into the game here shortly. Here's the sign out at APG:
