Bad Experience.

Post by HOSSISFREE »

I went to Thunder Gun Range for the first time today (Sat.) at around 3:30pm. With it being my first time there, I wanted to speak with someone about the range, buy some ammo, and pay for using the range. After spending about 20 minutes trying to find someone that works there I left. There was one person shooting, two people lounging back in the main building, but nobody to take my money, and set me up for shooting. I don't believe I will be going back.

My friend recently picked up a Ruger P90 and wanted to shoot for the first time while I shot my H&K and Kel-tec. We ended up going to Carter's Country on Treachwig. Too bad for Thunder. They missed out on our shooting today, and certainly didn't earn two new frequent customers.

I don't normally speak badly about a place, but it made me mad. I made the drive to get there to find nobody interested in letting someone shoot. If you shoot there and like it, I don't wish to offend. I simply had a bad experience my one time there.

You should have just walked into the range and started shooting. I bet they'd have gotten off their brains and come to see why you hadn't paid!

Hoss your experiance is a plesent one compared to what we are going through with the owner. I shoot Cowboy Action Shooting out there. We have put a lot into the props in the last few months. I think for a new club it looks fantastic. Now that we have made all these improvements the owner Jesse Gonzalez is making all kinds of demands such as we have to buy drinks from him and we can't bring our own. This includes water! He also wants to charge for parking and addmision for spectators. This guy is a real tool. My suggestion would be to stay as far away from that place as possible.

 The Thunder River Renegades Cowboy Action Shooting Club will no longer be shooting at the Thunder Gun Range effective today. The range owner just lost the possibility for a long and prosperous relationship with many great cowboys. We are saddened at the loss of the range, but we will be back.

This thing is not over yet! What a clown the owner is. He gave us 3 or 4 targets that we had to dig out of the dirt. They were not functional so we had our guy that welds take them home to repair. Today while we were taking down our props he demands his targets back. We have no problem with that but he wants them by tomorrow or ELSE! Or else what I don't know but oh well. He then leaves and parks his truck in the drive way so we can't leave and calls the cops. What a fool! The cops show up to tell him he has to move his truck becasuse he is holding us against our will. I am holding back here on what I want to say about this range owner and I can't tell you guys not to shoot there. What I can say is go there at your own risk.

I needed to buy ammo to shoot!

I shot there once many years ago when 1314 FM was still lonely country road. There was nobody there that time, I think he s not making a lot of loyal customers, mostly hispanic folks.
