Is there any way to just watch these matches? I would like to check out a couple of these matches and the private range. How does one join the private range?
+1 on this question. I drove out there once using their map and couldn't find the place.

Was looking to purchase a new firearm after hearing an ad on the radio. Called but couldn't talk to a person. Sent them an email with my request but never heard back. Found it elsewhere.

The range at Tactical Firearms on Mason Rd in Katy is now open. I shot there yesterday and it is a state of the art range. The target distance is set with a computer console at the lane itself....just type in the distance and the target goes out that far. You can control the amount of light on the target from no light up to daytime bright. You can shoot up to .50BMG and you can shoot full auto. (I have a slide fire stock for my AR and I just blasted away) Brass only ammo. There were lots and lots of employees there. There was no wait for a shooting lane. (3pm on Saturday) The place was crowded but it is very large and the staff is very attentive. Now the bad part.....it is $30/hr to shoot, and that does not include a target. They have memberships that start at $360/yr for individuals and that only gets you 1/2 off at the range. The upstairs part will consist of an indoor skeet range and a live fire shoot house. That part is not open yet and the manager said it will take a few more weeks to get that part open. They have every gun imaginable for sale including the KelTec KSG shotgun. I didn't ask the price. The side of the range I was on had 13 lanes and there had to be 6 range officers in there. One stood behind me the entire time and just watched me shoot. He never said a word...just watched. (maybe it was the "blasting away" part) Your time left on the range is shown on the computer console. I left a few minutes before my hour was up so I don't know what happens when your time is up. I want to support this dealer because he/she has put a lot of money into making this a first class operation. The cost is a high but I will still use it.

I see you are a Katy resident. So am I. Have you ever thought about shooting IDPA. There is a club (WHIDPA) that has weekly and a monthly match at a private range about 15 miles north of Brookshire. If you are interested, check out their web sight http://www.whidpa.com...
