That's it! I KNEW in the back of my little pea brain there was a range near Weatherford that had a facility that Andy was looking for. I saw it via a linked link to a link when I was searching for a CHL instructor back in May. It sounded like a decent place for defensive shooting practice and other things.

Here's the link:

I share the pain, especially for ocassional long range rifle shooting. I joined Denton County Sports, which is owned by a forum member, and although I was not a big fan of indoor ranges this one is much different and is truly member friendly. No rules about seconds between shots, you can draw from a holster etc, the only negative is that rifles are limited to 22 cal which I understand and agree with for this range. I really like the come and go policy with no real set hours, let yourself in, shoot and lock up behind you. Might be worth a look and visit to one of the open houses to look around, IMO the self defense insurance that is provided to members who hold a CHL is reason enough to have some type of membership.

Check out Adrenaline Proving Grounds right outside Greenville, TX on 380. Its a public range but it has a few things going for it.... its outdoor, rifle up to 300 yards and they are a bit looser on the rules (I was there Saturday and there was a guy shooting 2 .50cal rifles).
