I didn't get any sympathy when I called the listed number. Do people ever back out of the classes in advance? There's no waiting list info available.
:waiting:
It's the end of August and there's still no September orientation listed. Will there be any more in 2011?

No New Membership Orientations until September

PSC Directors will decide on a proposed September New Member Orientation at the 9/1/2011 Directors meeting. If we have one, we will announce when registration will open, during Labor Day Weekend. There are no waiting lists. New PSC Members must be NRA members through 6/30/2012 to be considered. PSC Board of Directors.

Please let us know. I'd be interested in joining. The Arms Room is nice and all, but not if you want to shoot a rifle.

Re-new Membership Question...

If I understand correctly, the NRA membership must not need renewed during the year of your PSC membership?

So, IF I understand this correctly, my normal NRA membership renews in MAY.. I must now renew with a 2-year NRA membership, appose to someone who's NRA membership renews in July, can just keep the Renewal at the 1-year membership... :headscratch

I guess I have to cut back on my ammo expense account :banghead: :banghead: Of course, my wife already made me cut it in half, and Wally world charges more for Ammo... :mad5

If you don't renew, does that open a spot for a new member? :evil2:

I knew I should have joined when I had a chance 2 years ago, I just kept putting it off. Will check back regularly to see if they start taking new members.

We have a Board meeting on Thursday, Oct. 5th and we will discuss membership and the "waiting list" form. As I mentioned in another post, "Legacy Members" will have first priority for any available membership slots and we don't have a clue how many people will qualify for those slots. The "waiting list" form could go up on the PSC website soon, but that's not a guarantee.

As for NRA Membership, PSC is a 100% NRA club. It makes no sense to have PSC Members whose NRA membership expires during the PSC membership year (July 1st through June 30th). While most people will renew their NRA membership before it expires, many don't. If the Board adopts this new policy, then some Members will have to renew earlier, or renew for two years, but after that one time, they can go back to renewing annually. A lot of our Members have a multi-year Membership with the NRA and that's another option.

Hopefully, the addition of new pistol bays will allow us to open the Club to a higher membership level, but the days of letting everyone in who wants to join are gone for good. We have a duty to our Members not to overload our facilities and deny them reasonable access to our ranges.

Would PSC ever host a training class, like magpul for instance? And if so would a non member be able to attend?

I must be pretty dense, because this is really confusing to me. My NRA membership currently expires on 5/31/2012. If I renew in May next year, that would put it at 5/31/2013 - which would be too early per the PSC renewal year. So, then you saying I have to renew for two, right? That puts it at 5/31/2014. But then for my 2013 renewal, it would happen again. So am I able to renew my NRA membership more that a year before it would expire?

I believe you can add an additional year at any time. You can even sign up for multi-year renewals. IIRC there was a price break for 3 years at a time. (That's what I used to do before I became a lifer.)

Ok - thank you. That seems to make sense. I knew you could do a multi-year term, but I figured you would then just be delaying the renewal. I never considered anyone would attempt to renew months or years before expiration.
