That is a sweet Colt .380 that Joe has! SIA had a Taurus 9mm and I thought the recoil would be sharper than it was.
You know, USA1, it's only 5-6 hours up here and we didn't start until 1:00pm. You could have left Tomball at 7:00am, shot for 2 hours and been back in Tomball by 9:00pm. What's a tank of gas (or two) among friends!
You know, I spent more time than that on the road to see a girlfriend (ex-wife) in my younger days. Looking back, I wasn't as smart as I thought!

That's a very tempting idea.mikeintexas wrote:

I keep looking for excuses to make the trip.
Believe me, if I'm ever anywhere close to ya'lls neck of the woods, we'll all have
to get together for food and shooting.

Oh, wouldn't that be a hoot! Careful now! I'll hold you to that!
Mike, on the other hand, we all could carpool down to USA1 when the next CHL Forum Day happens.

Re: Anyone up for shooting at Winchester Gallery on Saturday?
It's been a while since I have been able to spend some time
on the forum, but I was part of the Winchester Gallery shooters this past
Saturday.
Joe's Colt Government .380 is a small sweet piece with an interesting story.
Those .380 rounds are so cute. :-)
mikeintexas has a Taurus PT-145 and I got a chance to shoot some of those
manly rounds. My 9MM rounds have 115 grains and I assume Mike's .45's had
230 grains. Despite twice as many grains in the heavier bullet, I was pleasantly
surprised at how controllable the .45 was. Being a Millenium like mine, the
grip felt very familiar.
My Taurus PT-111 (9MM) was also fired by joe and mike.
I had so much ammo with me that we ran out of time before I ran out of ammo!
Whenever we can get together next time, let's have a bigger crowd.
This range is very affordable and once you have a range, you can stay for as long
as you wish. It was about $8.50 each, and we were there from 100-300 PM. YMMV.

I'm STILL telling wife and daughters how much fun I had. Look forward to our next outing! I hope the other folks who couldn't make it this time can make it next go 'round.
