DFW gun shops that do transfers
Wanted to know which shops did gun transfers in the DFW area and how much. Possibly getting a handgun from a different store online and curious about gunbroker. Just looking for info and prices

Where are You?
I use TMS guns in Haslet. Bill does transfers for CHLs for $10.
Works from his home, great guy.
If you are in Mesquite it might not work for you.

I used Lewisville Pawn last October on a XD transfer from Bud's. The charge was $10.

Thanks! I'm in Frisco so Lewisville will probably work. Do you have a phone # or website for these places?

DO NOT go to the Bullet Trap in Plano. They will do it but as I recall, they charge you some percentage of the value of the weapon which makes it the same price as if you bought it from them. What a rip!
Anyway, if you are in Frisco, I recommend Tom Hart of Hart Sports. He is in Plano near McDermott & Independence. You can contact him at (469) 223-9391 or thart@tx.rr.com. He will charge you 10.00 if you have a CHL.

Re: DFW gun shops that do transfers
There's a ton of FFL guys in the Metroplex that work out of there house that will do a transfer for you. For example, just in my zip code alone, one of the FFL transfer websites lists 12. I picked one about 6 blocks away from me.
The prices will vary, with $15-$20 being the norm...if there is one. Find one that charges $10 and make him your friend!
(those are the costs for a non-CHL holder, btw).

I live in Frisco and used a local that I found on this forum Ted GREAT guy!

Also http://www.Planopawnshop.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is only $25 and VERY HAPPY to do transfers without anything hidden. Since I drive by all the time I used them for a transfer. I recommend both from experience. Advantage to plano pawn shop is that they have regular hours and are in this business. Ted is local to Frisco and easy to get to.

I asked them (Bullet Trap) regarding FFL transfers back in December. They said they don't do them anymore.AEA wrote:DO NOT go to the Bullet Trap in Plano. That's probably cause they figured out why they were not getting any business........because peeps figured out they were getting ripped big time!sjfcontrol wrote: I asked them (Bullet Trap) regarding FFL transfers back in December. They said they don't do them anymore.
I got my first CHL at the BT in 2003 and I have been back there only 3 times to browse. I have not been there in over two years and I doubt seriously if I will ever go back there again, unless I have to meet someone there.
I definitely will not be spending any money there.

Re: DFW gun shops that do transfers
I gather you think their prices are too high? All prices, or just for transfers?
