I had one of my neighbors come knock on my door at 1 am when I first moved into my new house. He was furious and started off by swearing at me and threatening to call the cops. Apparently my dogs had been barking and were keeping him awake. I informed him that he did not need to use profanity and that I would bring them inside so he could sleep. I had not heard them barking because I was in a deeply medicated sleep. I went to the backyard to find out why they were barking. Turns out there was somebody in the neighbors backyard trying to steal his lawn mower. When I shined my flashlight on him he jumped the chain link fence and ran right past my neighbor. My neighbor then returned to my front door and knocked again. He introduced himself politely and told me that I had a pair of very good dogs. Told me to have a nice night and left.

He and I are pretty good friends now.
