A GW in the area was a student in a rifle class I was teaching and we hit it off pretty well. Being in LE I could appreciate the story.

They had set up a mechanical deer and were sitting on it when an older lady comes driving by and sees the deer. She gets out of her truck with her rifle, crosses the fence and shoots and hits the mechanical deer.

They swoop in on this soon to be felon and put the habias snatchas on her. She could not understand why she was being arrested. They told her it was against the law to trespass in order to take a deer on another's property.

Imagine their surprise when it turned out she was the property owner!
